This fellowship is designed for projects that use digital technologies to offer new insights into the historical and cultural heritage of Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Research Areas
Projects should make effective use of digital tools to explore the library’s collections. Potential areas of research include:
- Place histories in Singapore
- History and networks of early communities
- Analysis of Singapore newspapers
- Comparative studies of early Singaporean/Malayan publications
- Social history through photographs and oral histories
Fellowship Benefits
The fellowship lasts six months, during which you’ll receive:
- A monthly stipend of S$3,500
- Relocation package (S$1,500), return airfare (up to S$1,500), and accommodation allowance (up to S$3,500/month)
- Up to S$1,500 for software and content directly related to the project
- A research space with internet access at the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library
- Access to digitized materials and collection of metadata
Obligations and Publishing Rights
As a Fellow, you must sign a Fellowship agreement, dedicate significant time to your research at the library, and promote the Fellowship through various media. The National Library Board reserves the right to publish your research findings.
