Scholarship Opportunities

This prestigious scholarship is available to students from Francophone and Anglophone sub-Saharan African countries who have gained admission to any of the following universities under the AERC Collaborative PhD Programme (CPP) in Economics (https://aercafrica.org/announcement-of-2024-phd-fellowship/):

  • University of Cape Town, South Africa
  • University of Nairobi, Kenya
  • University of Ibadan, Nigeria
  • Félix Houphouet-Boigny University, Côte d’Ivoire
  • And many more prestigious institutions across Africa!

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this opportunity, you need to:

  1. Academic Excellence: Have a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent in Economics or a related field from an accredited university.
  2. Advanced Studies: Possess a Masters degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field, with comprehensive coursework in key economic areas.
  3. Research and Publications: Having at least one publication in a refereed journal is a plus.
  4. Professional Engagement: Experience in economic management, research, or training in the public sector will strengthen your application.
  5. Diversity and Inclusion: Female candidates and applicants from post-conflict and fragile states are highly encouraged to apply.
