Call opens for nominations to 2024 GBIF Graduate Researchers Award
The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) is thrilled to announce the 2024 Graduate Researchers Award, dedicated to support and recognize promising graduate students in the field of biodiversity informatics.
If you’re a master’s or doctoral student want to use GBIF-mediated data for your research, this is your chance to shine and potentially win a €5,000 prize!
Who’s Eligible?
You qualify if you are:
- A citizen of a GBIF participating country (https://www.gbif.org/the-gbif-network), or
- Studying at an institution in a GBIF participating country.
How to Apply?
- Craft Your Proposal: Begin with a 200-word summary of your research followed by a detailed project description (up to 5 pages). Your proposal should clearly describe how your study uses GBIF’s extensive data to explore issues related to biodiversity informatics and conservation.
- Compile Supporting Documents: Your application packet should include your CV and crucial documents like a confirmation letter from your academic mentor and up to three endorsements from established researchers in your field.
- National Submission: Each country involved with GBIF has its own cut-off date for nominations, so it’s essential to check with your local GBIF node or their website for specifics (https://www.gbif.org/news/0YedTUAf3Nk14JKZqBn0a/call-opens-for-nominations-to-2024-gbif-graduate-researchers-award).
